In February 2018, I decorated the entrance door to the dormitory for helpers at Annie’s Wildlife Shelter in Victoria, Australia.

The animals shown on the door are all inspired by Annie’s rescued animals. The wallaby was named Allira, which means “Quarts crystal” in Aboriginal languages from around Melbourne Victoria. After being bottle-fed and raised by Annie, she was released into the wild. The white cockatoo, named Fred, had a broken wing and could not be released. At the time of creation, all of the animals were still in the shelter and still alive. Sadly, the tiny ringtail possum, and the big red kangaroo did not make it.
